The Kewanee Park District is proud to offer the youth of Kewanee and surrounding areas the opportunity to be a part of a summer baseball/softball team.  Ages for the summer program range from 4 years old up to 15 years old.  This season consists of 12 T-ball teams (ages 4-6), 5 Girls PeeWee teams, 4 Girls Farm teams,  2 Girls Pony teams, 7 Boys Peewee teams, 5 Boys Farm teams, 2 Boys Little teams and 2  Boys Pony teams.  Thanks to our local sponsors, the Kewanee Park District is able to keep the price of baseball/softball at a minimum.  Our sponsors provide each player on their team a shirt and hat/visor while the Park District provides each coach with equipment including bats, balls and helmets.  All of our baseball/softball teams are coached by volunteers – usually a parent – who generously give their time and knowledge to the youth of Kewanee.  The goal of the Kewanee Park District is to give local kids the opportunity to not only learn a sport, but to learn the value of teamwork and dedication. Registering for Baseball/Softball Before each baseball/softball season, the Kewanee Park District holds 2 walk-in registration sessions at the Kewanee Park District Office (new building).   The Kewanee Park District Office is open Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm.  Pricing T-Ball $25.00 per child ***Child must be 4 years old by June 1st*** Residents Non-Resident (1) Child $45.00 (1) Child $55.00 (2) Children $65.00 (2) Children $75.00 (3 or more) Children $80.00 (3 or more) Children $90.00 Jerry Nell Memorial Fund Assistance is available to any child in need. Game Dates Games will start the week of May 22, 2017 and will end the week of June 26, 2017 as a rainout week.  The All Star Game is scheduled for Saturday July 1, 2017 at Northeast Park. Game Cancellations Decisions to cancel games is for the safety and well-being of your child. The Kewanee Park District makes its decisions after careful consideration and input from local authorities. Cancellations may occur because of rain, lightening or even heat index. No decisions on game cancellations are made until the afternoon as the weather can always change. If there has been a cancellation, notification will be placed on the Kewanee Park District phone messaging system at 309-852-2872.

I signed my daughter up for t-ball but haven’t had a call for when she starts.

    • Kewanee Park District says:

The T-ball director Jim Findley is working on the teams now. Practices are scheduled to start next Monday so you should hear something from a coach by the end of the week.

  2. Jennifer Modro says:

T-ball practice starts next week and my son hasn’t got a call from a coach saying what team he’s on. A little advance notice would be helpful since the season starts in 2 days.

    • Kewanee Park District says:

I have received the rosters for all T-Ball teams and the information is being posted on the website now. If you still have not heard from a coach please let me know and I can help you get in touch with the coach.
      Thank you

  3. Janelle says:

I don’t see a roster for Tball-5&6 yr olds yet. And we haven’t been called yet either. Do they have their first practice tomorrow? Thanks

    • Kewanee Park District says:

I am preparing to post the T-ball rosters now. If you still have not heard from a coach please contact us at 309-852-2872 so we can help you get in touch with the coach. Some teams do start practice today and all of that information can be found on the same page as the rosters.
      Thank you.

Can you tell me when we’re getting our team shirts? My son is on union federal team and doesn’t play til 7th

  5. Shelly Hurd says:

I’m interested in having my son play baseball this year. Who would I contact to get more information? He’s 9, will be 10 in July.

    • Kewanee Park District says:

If you would like to contact the office at 309-852-2872, I will do my best to answer any questions you may have. I am available Monday-Friday 9am-3pm.
