The Kewanee Park District is proud to offer the youth of Kewanee and surrounding areas the opportunity to be a part of a summer baseball/softball team.  Ages for the summer program range from 4 years old up to 15 years old.  This season consists of 12 T-ball teams (Pre-K & K), 4 Girls PeeWee teams (K,1st, & 2nd grade), 4 Girls Farm teams (3rd & 4th grade),  2 Girls Little teams (5th-8th grades), 8 Boys Peewee teams (K-2nd grade), 5 Boys Farm teams (3rd & 4th grade), 3 Boys Little teams (5th & 6th grade) and 2  Boys Pony teams (7th -9th grade).  Thanks to our local sponsors, the Kewanee Park District is able to keep the price of baseball/softball at a minimum.  Our sponsors provide each player on their team a shirt and hat/visor while the Park District provides each coach with equipment including bats, balls and helmets.  All of our baseball/softball teams are coached by volunteers – usually a parent – who generously give their time and knowledge to the youth of Kewanee.  The goal of the Kewanee Park District is to give local kids the opportunity to not only learn a sport, but to learn the value of teamwork and dedication.

Registering for Baseball/Softball Before each baseball/softball season, the Kewanee Park District holds 2 walk-in registration sessions at the Kewanee Park District Office (new building) located on the driving range at Baker Park Golf Course.  The Kewanee Park District Office is open Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm.

Game Cancellations Decisions to cancel games are for the safety and well-being of your child. I signed my daughter up for t-ball but haven’t had a call for when she starts.

    • Kewanee Park District says:

The T-ball director Jim Findley is working on the teams now. Practices are scheduled to start next Monday so you should hear something from a coach by the end of the week.

  2. Jennifer Modro says:

T-ball practice starts next week and my son hasn’t got a call from a coach saying what team he’s on. A little advance notice would be helpful since the season starts in 2 days.

    • Kewanee Park District says:

I have received the rosters for all T-Ball teams and the information is being posted on the website now. If you still have not heard from a coach please let me know and I can help you get in touch with the coach.
      Thank you

  3. Janelle says:

I don’t see a roster for Tball-5&6 yr olds yet. And we haven’t been called yet either. Do they have their first practice tomorrow? Thanks

    • Kewanee Park District says:

I am preparing to post the T-ball rosters now. If you still have not heard from a coach please contact us at 309-852-2872 so we can help you get in touch with the coach. Some teams do start practice today and all of that information can be found on the same page as the rosters.
      Thank you.

  4. Jennifer Modro says:

Can you tell me when we’re getting our team shirts? My son is on union federal team and doesn’t play til 7th

  5. Shelly Hurd says:

I’m interested in having my son play baseball this year. Who would I contact to get more information? He’s 9, will be 10 in July.

    • Kewanee Park District says:

If you would like to contact the office at 309-852-2872, I will do my best to answer any questions you may have. I am available Monday-Friday 9am-3pm.
      Thank you,
      Michelle Anderson
      Secretary

  6. Kendra says:

Is T-ball sign up still open? We live just over the Manitowoc/Kewaunee county border, on the Manitowoc side. Would our son be eligible to play?

    • Kewanee Park District says:

We are located in Kewanee, IL and are not associated with Kewaunee County Wisconsin. However, if you would like to come visit for the summer and have your son play T-ball we would love to have him!!

      • Kendra says:

Oh lord I feel stupid. That’s what I get for not looking past the one page Google took me to and clearly not thoughoughly reading said page. I’m so sorry.

  7. Courtney says:

How do you decide who makes all-stars?

    • Kewanee Park District says:

WE ASK EACH TEAM’S PLAYERS AND COACHES TO VOTE FOR THEIR TEAM’S ALL-STARS WITH THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION: COMES TO PRACTICE; WORKS HARD; GOOD TEAMMATE (SPORTSMANSHIP); ABILITY TO PLAY THE GAME. THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS SELECTED FROM EACH TEAM IS BASED ON WHAT PLACE THAT PARTICULAR TEAM IS IN.

  8. Dave says:

Do some sponsors still buy the 1st place team a little trophy? Also do the champions still get their pictures in the newspaper?

    • Kewanee Park District says:

At this time, trophies are not given out to the 1st place team in each league. However, each player that makes the All-Star roster receives a trophy for their accomplishment.
