What is the Jerry Nell Memorial Youth Fund?
Jerry's goal was to see to it that children who can't afford to participate in park programs or use park facilities are quietly helped to do so.
Whether it's baseball, softball, soccer, swimming, youth golf or any other activity such as day camps, money is available to help a child from a family with a tight budget or a large number of eager active children.
You must complete an application to be considered. The request will be reviewed by a committee consisting of family members and friend of Nell, a member of the park board and the director of parks and recreation with the grant based on need and other guidelines. Applications are available at the park district office at Baker Park. Or click here to download the application. Once downloaded, you will need to complete the form and drop it off, along with proof of annual household income, at the park district office at Baker Park.
