The Kewanee Park District is proud to offer the youth of Kewanee and surrounding areas the opportunity to be a part of a summer baseball/softball team.  Ages for the summer program range from 4 years old up to 15 years old.  This season consists of 12 T-ball teams (Pre-K & K), 4 Girls Pee Wee teams (K,1st, & 2nd grade), 4 Girls Farm teams (3rd & 4th grade),  2 Girls Little teams (5th-8th grades), 8 Boys Pee Wee teams (K-2nd grade), 5 Boys Farm teams (3rd & 4th grade), 3 Boys Little teams (5th & 6th grade) and 2  Boys Pony teams (7th -9th grade).  Thanks to our local sponsors, the Kewanee Park District is able to keep the price of baseball/softball at a minimum.  Our sponsors provide each player on their team a shirt and hat/visor while the Park District provides each coach with equipment including bats, balls and helmets.  All of our baseball/softball teams are coached by volunteers – usually a parent – who generously give their time and knowledge to the youth of Kewanee.  The goal of the Kewanee Park District is to give local kids the opportunity to not only learn a sport, but to learn the value of teamwork and dedication.
